"Why do you want to return as a RFK volunteer?"
"To show these kids the love and attention they deserve and to HOPEFULLY make a lasting impact on at least on one of them. It breaks my heart to see these sweet children come in the way they do sometimes. Camp has made me a much softer person and has taught me countless things about my own life and myself."
Jade W. --3rd year Camp volunteer
"At Camp we don't just focus on their hurtful pasts. Instead, we look forward to their hopeful futures. I cannot possibly imagine my life without this camp and all of these amazing campers in it."
Gabrielle R. -- Columbia City Camp Director

This life changing camp and mentoring experience is only made possible with your help.

We sing, we swim, we run, we play games, we have the tea part to end all tea parties, we throw the biggest birthday party ( Did you know most kids in the foster care system will never experience a birthday party?), we do crafts, we get dirty, we get outside, we laugh, and we love.
RFK IS 100% DONOR FUNDED
Without our incredibly generous donors, camp would not be able to happen. We do not accept or apply for any State or Federal funds to run our summer camp. Nor do we put the financial burden of paying for camp on the foster families that are campers are living with. So, we work our butts off year round to raise as much money as we can so that we can take as many campers as we can.

We have a waiting list of kids who would love to come to camp but can't.

Without your help, they don't get to come. Your sponsorships and donations change the projection of the lives of our most at risk children in our communities. Together we have the power to transform lives and communities through breaking the cycles of abuse, poverty, and neglect.

Natosha R.
I wish to return to camp this year because I am more than excited to help these kids have a week of unconditional love, fun,  and to help them just be kids. I am a big fan of the saying moments matter, and that is what this camp is all about.

RFK has impacted my life more so than I ever thought it would. I have found myself more aware of what kids are going through behind closed doors. I have become a lot more patient with others and myself. I think about the kids a lot and sometimes ask myself what they would think about my actions and behaviors... whether it be a potential good or bad one. They have led me to be more grateful, and have shown me ways of unrelenting forgiveness.

I feel like I have come to better understand my worth through the loving process of building a camp family. Overall, I feel like this camp and these kids have had a large part in making me who I am today.
